GT Remote

Bought this remote as a back up for the one that came with the board. My remote dropped from waist high and now the brake switch is jacked up. Part of the gear inside broke and fell out of the remote. It still works but will not spring back to fully off. So sometimes to board will not move because it thinks the brake is being slightly pressed. Fixed it by programing the remote to think that 50% brake is 0% brake. The remote function is great and I don't think it could be improved upon. The remote housing is cheap plastic and needs some sort of protection from impacts. It's an off road skateboard how about a remote sturdy enough to go with the board?. Love my AT-GT board but the remote no so much.

R2 remote

The R2 remote is better than the original one that came with the Carbon GT board but could use some refinements. Overall, connectivity with board is good with few disconnects. Have fairly good confidence that R2 will stay connected but have had some issues where it has disconnected or has put itself back into safe mode for no reason. This has been a bit disconcerting. The biggest refinement I think the R2 could use is...1) Make a protective sleeve or 2) Build the remote more robust so that a drop on the ground...doesn't mean a new remote. This happened to me. I dropped the remote about 3 ft. to the ground as it was resting on the top trucks of my board while board was placed against the wall. The remote fell to the ground, cracked the screen and it stopped working all together...(bummer, when you are far from home). See uploaded picture of cracked screen. Didn't reach out to customer service because I didn't want to be a whiner. Needless to say, I had to purchase a new remote. So here is the bottom line Evolve...You make Kick Ass boards, no doubt... (I own 3 of them - 1 Carbon GT and 2 bamboo GTX's)...Step up to the plate and make a remote that is stronger, more robust...can withstand a few bumps. Get away from the flimsy plastic shell and compliment the board with a tough, well protected casing. This will go a long way with you clientele.

Great delivery time awesome controls and gre

Best electric skateboard remote

From Boosted Boards controllers to this R2. The R2 is the most advance and best controller for any electric skateboard on the market right now.

Great but always room to improve

Look, this remote isn’t perfect but it is a helluva lot better than a lot of the competitors out there. The LCD is a great feature and allows the rider to really understand the task of riding the esk8. The only serious gripe I have thus far is that the remotes Connection stability seems to be a little lacking. Although I don’t have the SERIOUS connection issues I have read others having I have noticed a few drops and random cut outs. What’s more is that I have issues with the mode drop, due to battery voltage sag, and then I can not bump back up to higher modes?! Not sure if this is a Rx or board issue but you need to know all the facts!
With all that being said, this Rx, the Evolve R2 still deserves 5+ stars.
I would love to see a real time battery voltage feature where the rider can more readily monitor the battery status.
